Drying is one of the higher-risk steps in a wash routine, since dragging a towel across wet paint can introduce fine scratches if it isn't done carefully.
Use a clean, soft towel
A clean, soft microfibre towel is commonly preferred over old cloths or chamois that may hold grit. Give the towel a shake before use to remove any loose debris.
Blot rather than drag where possible
Gently laying the towel down and lifting water away, rather than dragging it firmly across the surface, can help reduce the risk of marring, particularly on painted panels.
Work in sections
Drying one panel at a time, and switching to a clean, dry section of towel (or a fresh towel) as it becomes saturated, helps keep the process effective.
Don't forget shut lines and mirrors
Water trapped in shut lines, badges and mirror housings can drip out later, so check these areas once the main panels are dry.
